Beach Engagement Photos on Charlestons Kiawah Island

It's a trip going from near total strangers to observing a couples preciously intimate time together. I cannot say enough about my clients and how quickly they warm up to the camera, to myself, to the whole idea of being photographed professionally - which is an experienced typically quiet far removed from day to day life. Harriet and Jesse had a disarming, calm quality to them. I could see the introspection in Harriet's eyes, and the way Jesse adored her for it. We met on Kiawah Island, South Carolina for a little Spring engagement session - my favorite time of year in Charleston. I documented these two entirely on Kodak film - the permanence of which I find to be such a romantic medium to reflect a forever bond.
