Documentary Family Photography Session in Charleston's Hampton Park

Family photos don't have to be posed, or feel forced, or be boring. My favorite family sessions are those spent documenting families navigating their world - caring for their children, while they observe and interpret the world around them. Marissa and Clay are two friends of mine who wanted family photographs that reflected who they are, and what they value as a family. This session was shot entirely on 35mm and medium format film, as we explored Hampton Park in Charleston, SC.
