Black Tie Fall Wedding at Lowndes Grove

I first met Emma and Tristan when I traveled to Boston, MA to photograph their engagement photos in their hometown. We started the day in their lovely brownstone with their sweet pup, then spent some time strolling around the picturesque streets of Boston. Having the opportunity to photograph my Charleston wedding couples in their hometown is one of my favorite parts of the job. There is such a strong bond that comes with sharing your life and home with someone. Emma and Tristan were welcoming and sweet - and goofy to match. For their Charleston wedding, they welcomed guests the night before for a dinner at the Daniel Island Yacht Club which was founded by Tristan's dad. It's actually a really sweet story, as to why he decided to open up the Yacht Club in the first place - one that gestures a polite middle finger to some outdated gender roles of the south. Their wedding ceremony and reception was at Lowndes Grove and, front to back, Emma and Tristan's wedding gallery is truly one of my favorites. They were a perfectly seemless blend of editorail sophistication and charmingly silly. Photographing weddings is exhausting. When I come home from a wedding, I'm typically in a fairly dissociated state, but the sign of a great event is when I want to tell my partner all about every little detail from the day when I get home. I returned from Emma and Tristan's wedding envigorated and loving what I do more than I ever have. I also just want to give a big shout out to their families....what absolutely wonderful people. I adore them all, so much.
