Cates & Grahame

Charleston

South Carolina

November 9, 2024

This wedding capped off my fall of 2024 wedding season, and it was truly a gem to go out on. Cates is one of the most effortless, calm and poised brides I've ever worked with. I knew from the instant I met her that she exuded ellegance and grace, and I'd come to observe that Grahame clearly adored her for it. I love photographing weddings like this. They feel balanced - not too much of any one particular thing. Just enough portraits for preservation, just enough embrace of the day and go with the flow, just the right amount of ambience at the reception. It all just felt so "right" for a wedding at The Gibbes Museum. I shot most of this wedding on film, even pushing the limits of the medium to capture the candle lit ambiene of the reception space. Film just seems like such a fitting medium to document a wedding at an art gallery.
