Intimate Summer Wedding with Contemporary Styling at Charleston's William Aiken House

Brittani and David split their time between New York City and Charleston, South Carolina - the latter of which they spend living in and renovating a gorgeous, historic downtown home. It was only fitting that their wedding venue reflected some of that charm, that Charleston experience, that the two of them so dearly share. The William Aiken House is such a lovely wedding venue, for weddings of all sizes, but I just adore it so much for more intimate affairs. Brittani and David exchanged vows on the venue lawn, behind the gates separating them from the bustle of downtown Charleston, before moving inside for a cocktail hour and seated dinner in the home's charmingly, antiqued and original interior. I spent most of the day simply documenting the couple, their families, and their two young children. When interactions, atmosphere and personalities are so sincere, sometimes you can just watch things unfold and lend your artful eye. These are my favorite events to photograph - all captured on and elevated by the look of the Kodak film that I adore so much. The analog seemed so fitting for this couple, this venue, and these memories and I'm so grateful to have been their trusted documentarian.
