Renee and John wanted a wedding that felt intimate, personal and sentimental for their destination wedding. From a welcome party in Old Town Alexandria, VA to getting ready together with friends and family in an old, quaint home to a traditional, heartfelt church ceremony, the whole weekend felt focused on the things that truly matter in a wedding. It all felt focused on the moments, on the connection. These are the kinds of events, the kinds of people, that a documentary film photographer lives for. The permanence of film, the slowness and the artistry of it all, feels so appropriate for intentional celebrations. It's all a thrill to witness, to document and be a part of - cap that all off with a second line brass band and a candle lit reception in Washington, DC and you have an event that feels complete, poetic, and a fitting end to a beginning of a couple's story.
