A Summer Camp, an Inn by the Beach, and a Family Affair of Wedding Celebrations

Getting to photograph Rebecca and Chelsea's Michigan wedding was an unexpected treat. I say this because I first booked her sister's wedding that they were hosting in Charleston, SC. Speaking with her sister, Natalie, we quickly realized that we had so many similar, close ties. Their family is from the hometown adjacent to mine in Ohio. Natalie and Logan were getting married in Charleston, where I spend most of my year, and Rebecca and Chelsea were getting married in Michigan, my dear home for the Summers. Natalie mentioned her sister's wedding plans, actually occurring before her wedding, and I was elated to be put in touch. Long story short, I first photographed Rebecca and Chelsea's summer camp nuptials in Central Michigan and later that fall I reconnected with them to photograph Natalie and Logan's Folly Beach wedding outside Charleston, South Carolina. I feel like family with them - and that is so much more a testament to their character than mine. The welcoming, joyful attitudes, of their families was truly something special to witness and be a part of. There is also something to be said about the weddings these two couples decided to throw. ALL of my favorite wedding experiences, big and small, occur when a couple throws the right wedding for themselves and friends, as people. I left both celebrations feeling like every single person was thriving and in their element, and it truly made for some beautiful scenes to document. There are a million ways to celebrate a wedding, so I truly admire when my clients are able to navigate those options and realize their perfect environment.
